*In July 2016, The Williams Institute of UCLA released a study revealing that the estimated number of U.S Transgender population has doubled since 2011. This number is still a conservative estimate; it does not include youth statistics, and the data is not acquired through the federal census bureau, and so it is not based on a true sample of the U.S. population. Some researchers suggest that the true number of trans-identified individuals could be as high as 1 in every 100 persons in the U.S.
